The Journey to Humanizing Technology

Fazrul Izwan Hassan graduated from Universiti Utara Malaysia in Information Technology (majors in AI) in 2002. He has been in software development for 19 years, specializing in R&D, telecommunications and financial services systems. In 2002, Fazrul joined MDeC as an intern and executive doing research in Smart School, Shared Services Center and Business Process Outsourcing. He later joined Sedania Technologies as a Senior Manager in Quality Software Development for five years, developing telecommunication systems for Celcom, Telkomsel (Indonesia) and AKTEL (Bangladesh).

Fazrul joined a Dublin-based company in Kuala Lumpur, Openet Telecom, as a Team Lead, producing in-house network simulation tools for telecommunication systems for AT&T, Bell Canada and Cisco in 2010. Later he joined Sedania As-Salam Capital as Chief Technology Officer, overseeing all technology direction and development to fintech products and services to leading Islamic banks in Malaysia. In 2021, he moved to Maybank as an Enterprise Technology Architect in the Strategic & IT Architecture department, helping the bank oversee and modernize IT systems.

THE 8th INNOVATIVE RESEARCH, INVENTION AND APPLICATION EXHIBITION (IRIA 2023)

The Innovative Research, Invention and Application Exhibition (I-RIA) was born as a platform for young inventors from Primary School to university students to showcase their Final Year Project (FYP) and innovations to be promoted to the National level. Since then, international participants were interested to join. Hence, in 2023, I-RIA is open for international inventors to participate and share their innovations. This year, I-RIA will be held via online mode since we are moving to an endemic phase.

Themed “Humanizing Today’s Technology for Resilient Future”, I-RIA 2023 provides the ideal venue for inventors, designers and entrepreneurs to showcase their latest inventions, ideas, prototypes, products and designs to investors, manufacturers, distributors and marketers who are seeking new ideas to work on, making it the ideal platform for technological commercialization and collaboration.

I-RIA 2023 is where you experience the latest ideas that are people-centered — inventions and prototypes by universities, research institutes, technical and vocational schools, secondary schools, private organizations and individual inventors who are taking scientific and technological innovation to the next level. I-RIA 2023 is expected to attract 1000 visitors and 350 exhibitors in one venue.
